And you're absolutely right about food touching - sure, it's all mixed in your stomach, but you don't have taste buds down there. Some items taste like shit when mixed together, therefore they should never touch.
I'll eat pretty much anything, but I am rather frightened by the coloured cauliflower that has come on the market in the past few years. Cauliflower is often incredibly nasty anyway (I've only thoroughly enjoyed it at a tapas place that roasted it with I assume smoked paprika and I don't know what else), but the idea of purple cauliflower is deeply disturbing. Your veg should not be lavender.
